A sustainable choice
At Plant World we care about our planet and nature. That is why we think it is important to grow plants in a sustainable way. This way our customers can enjoy beautiful houseplants that are also good for the environment.
We blijven onszelf elk jaar verbeteren om onze planten nog schoner, duurzamer en eerlijker te telen. We willen namelijk nog vele jaren onze klanten voorzien van prachtige groene vrienden, zonder daarbij de duurzaamheid uit het oog te verliezen.
Om bij te dragen aan een gezonde natuur, gebruiken we al jaren geen middelen die onder de groep Neonicotinoïden vallen. Deze middelen kunnen namelijk bijdragen aan de bijensterfte in Nederland. Wij zijn er trots op dat we op deze manier ons steentje bijdragen aan een betere wereld voor ons allemaal.
Continuous sustainability
Some examples of what we are doing at our locations in Groningen and Westland:
– Gas-free on Hoenderparklaan: this greenhouse is heated by geothermal heat
– Active use of reusable trays or shipments without packaging
– Our sustainable line 'Feel Green' is completely plastic-free
– Use of growing pots made from 100% recycled material
– Collection and reuse of rainwater for watering our plants
Biological crop protection
At Plant World we are committed to a sustainable and natural approach to growing our plants. We use biological crop protection, such as predatory mites and parasitic wasps, to minimize the use of chemical pesticides. The Airobug helps us to distribute the biological crop protection efficiently and evenly in the greenhouse.
Daarnaast gebruiken we het NatuGrow-systeem, wat staat voor Natural Growing (Natuurlijk Telen), om onze planten weerbaarder en gezonder te maken. Op deze manier ontstaan er planten die minder gevoelig zijn voor ziektes als Pythium, Fusarium, Meeldauw en Botrytis. Bij Plant World streven we ernaar om onze planten op een natuurlijke en gezonde manier te laten groeien, zodat ze een duurzame keuze zijn voor onze klanten.

Basically, all products are certified. Some certificates are product-related or customer-oriented.Our plants meet the highest standards, in terms of sustainability.

Footprint
What is our actual impact on the Earth? To find out, Greenhouse Marketeers has calculated our ecological footprint. This allows us to be aware of the impact of our cultivation process (from A to Z) on the environment. This forms our basis for continuous improvements in terms of sustainability.
